KUNASEK NAMED TO NARUC COMMITTEE ON WATER

Arizona Corporation Commissioner Carl Kunasek has been named a member of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) Committee on Water. NARUC President Cheryl Parrino announced the appointment, saying "Your active service on this Committee is important to the cause of strengthening effective public regulation."

"Providing for clean, safe and affordable water to Arizonans is a central issue for this Commission," said Kunasek. "Membership on this committee will keep me better informed, and help the Commissioners to better deal with the numerous challenges faced by the 350 water companies under our jurisdiction. This is also a chance for Arizona to be represented on national issues like the Federal Clean Water Act."

The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, based in Washington, is comprised of members of utility regulatory bodies from all 50 states and the territories.
