|
Effective March 7, 1998, Morris H. Wolff is no longer employed as Director of the Utilities Division of the Arizona Corporation Commission. Controversy had arisen regarding Mr. Wolff, including ongoing allegations made by Commissioner Kunasek's office regarding possible misstatements in his resume. Mr. Wolff has vigorously denied those allegations. |

The continuing controversy has been a distraction that diverts focus from the critical work of the Commission, especially given the Commission's rigorous timetable for commencing retail electric competition. The Commission needs to put this controversy behind it and to move ahead with its aggressive agenda. |

|
Ray Williamson has been appointed as the Acting Director of the Utilities Division. Previous to this appointment, Williamson served as the chief of the Utilities Division's Economics and Research Section. He has been employed with the Commission since 1992. |
