ACC'S IRVIN ELECTED TO NATIONAL REGULATORY BOARD

On June 15, 1999, Arizona Corporation Commissioner Jim Irvin was unanimously elected by the members of the Western Conference of Public Service Commissioners (WCPSC) executive board, the first time an Arizona commissioner has served on the board since 1990.

Irvin will serve as Secretary Treasurer of the WCPSC through 2001 and will serve as President in 2002. The organization represents public utility commissioners throughout the Western United States, Western Canada and Mexico.

In nominating Irvin, Montana Commissioner Bob Anderson stated that, " Jim Irvin is one of the most knowledgeable and forward thinking utility commissioners in the country. He is a dedicated public servant and tireless supporter of consumers rights."

Irvin noted that "this position brings great honor to Arizona, and reinforces my position that this institution, despite the turmoil of the past two years, has a reputation for looking out for the citizens of this State, and I intend to continue down that path."
