Public Input Sought on Water Task Force Recommendations |
PHOENIX - The Arizona Corporation Commission will be holding a public comment session on Friday, October 5 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Yavapai County District Office, Board of Supervisors' Room at 10 South 6th Street in Cottonwood. A second public comment session is planned for 10:00 a.m. to noon in Tucson on October 25 at the Commission's Hearing Room at 400 West Congress Street, 3rd Floor. The Commissioners and Staff are seeking comment from water companies and customers of regulated public water companies on four key policy provisions. These provisions, summarized below, could be adopted as guiding principles used by the Utilities Division or could become firm policies or rules of the Commission. |
All four recommendations or proposed policies were developed by the Commission's Water Task Force, which includes water company representatives, representatives from the Arizona Department of Water Resources, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality and the Central Arizona Water Conservation District. Its meetings are public and several individuals who were not official "members" of the task force took active roles in the process. The goal of the Task Force is to develop policies to address a wide variety of problems that private water companies and their customers face. |
