ACC Sets U S WEST Service Quality Public Comment Meetings

The Arizona Corporation Commission has scheduled a series of U S WEST Service Quality Public Comment Meetings throughout Arizona. The purpose of the meetings, which will be Chaired by Commissioner William Mundell, is to provide an opportunity for U S WEST customers to inform the Commission of service quality problems they may be experiencing. On August 31, 1999, the Commission held a U S WEST Service Quality Forum at the Commission's offices in Phoenix. Subsequently, the Commission received requests to provide similar opportunities to U S WEST customers in other locations. The following is a list of several locations at which the Commission will schedule these opportunities for public comment: Prescott, Sierra Vista, Tucson, Bisbee, Payson, Williams, Winslow, Nogales, Yuma, Parker, Casa Grande, Gila Bend, Globe/Superior/Miami, Safford and Wickenburg. Separately, US WEST has requested an increase in rates, and the Commission hearing on that request is scheduled to commence on January 10, 2000.

Public comment will be taken at the meetings following a brief presentation by the Commission's Utilities Division Staff. U S WEST will also make a brief presentation, which will be followed by Commissioners' discussion of the issues.

For more information on the meetings, please contact Commissioner Mundell's Aide, Teena Wolfe, at (602) 542-3935.
