Hot Tips Now Available For Form 471

The Schools and Libraries Corporation (SLC) has posted three "Hot Tips" on the http://www.slcfund.org Web Site to help Universal Service Fund applicants complete Form 471. The Hot Tips are plain-language reminders of existing instructions for completing Items 14, 15/16, and 17on Form 471, and may be useful for applicants who are confused about those sections. Specifically, the Hot Tips focus on:

• Item 14 - What's Required for the "Worksheet of Calculations"?

• Item 15/16 - Share or Site-Specific?

• Item 17 - What's Acceptable as a "List of Services"?

SPECIAL REMINDER: The SLC strongly encourages all schools and libraries to submit their Form 471 Application in a correct and prompt manner. If you are planning to file your Form 471 Application within the75-day window, which closes April 15, please do not wait until the last minute to do so. Remember, your application MUST BE RECEIVED by April 15, and it must pass the Minimum Processing Standards. The earlier we receive your Form 471, the better able we will be to work through with you any questions or problems that we see.
